Q: How many capsules a day should a 70 year old woman take of OliveLeafMax ?

Asked by: Theresa Stuckey - 5/14/2024
A: Everyone's health is different so we do not provide specific dosages for any age group. We recommend starting with what the label indicates, one capsule per day. We also recommend increasing your dosage up to four capsules per day for short periods when needed. Cut back and/or discontinue taking olive leaf if you experience any adverse side effects. Take after a meal if you experience an upset stomach.

Q: We have been taking the Max capsules and before that the original higher dose Oleuropurin. We also take the generic olive leaf capsules. My questions is do I need to take both or now just the Max? Harry

Asked by: Harry A Blatnick - 3/1/2023
A: You do not need to take both capsule types. OliveLeafMAX capsules contain 50% olive leaf extract and 50% olive leaf powder so you get both ingredients in OliveLeafMAX capsules.

Q: How many capsules of the 500mg olive leaf extract is recommended for the treatment of HSV1 per day.

Asked by: Kay - 1/10/2023
A: We are not allowed to provide treatment advice for any health condition. This is a great question for your natural practitioner. In general, we recommend up to four capsules daily, although some people take more for herpes and other viral conditions.

Answer provided by: Wayne (2/9/2023)

Q: I have a question about the contents of the extract. So on the nutrition label, when it says 250 mg of olive leaf extract (40% oleuropein), does that mean it’s 250 mg of oleuropein? I’m confused on the actual amount of oleuropein in a capsule. The bottle seems to say 250 mg but an answer in the Q&A section says around 115 mg. And is there a way to check what levels of hydroxytyrosol and the other ingredients found in the powder portion?

Asked by: Shawn - 3/21/2022
A: the 40% oleuropein is based on the 250 mg extract which equals 100 mg. There is also oleuropein in the olive leaf powder which is not standardized and fluctuates between 1-5%. Adding the two together we come up with an approximation of 115 mg for the entire capsule.

Q: How much Oleuropein in each capsule of the new 40% Olive Leaf Extract, please.

Asked by: Lawrence Bacon - 12/2/2021
A: 100 mg from the standardized extract, plus the naturally occurring amount from olive leaf powder which fluctuates but typically measures between 1-6%, or 2.5 mg - 15 mg. So, up to 115 mg per capsule.

Q: I have looked through the website and did not find any warnings concerning the use of this supplement for people who have high blood pressure and/or have diabetes. I ordered the large bottle of Olive Leaf Max capsules. The bottle was shipped with an informational leaflet. Near the bottom of the sheet there is a warning of how the use of this supplement may interfere with blood pressure medications. Why not state this somewhere on the website to help potential customers decide if they are willing to risk possible adverse effects by taking the supplement BEFORE they pay for it? This is not an inexpensive product and to find out AFTER purchase it could alter prescription medication doesn't seem ethical or fair.

Q: my husband's doc said olive oil is good for brain heatlth. he is having the beginnings of dementia. would this capsule be considered as good as oil. and how is it better than the regular capsules? thank you for your help

Asked by: ruth - 7/17/2021
A: Olive leaf is better than olive oil for any condition where oleuropein is beneficial because the leaf contains a much higher amount of this compound. OliveLeafMAX is designed to maximize oleuropein and contains approximately 10 times more than our organic olive leaf powder capsules.

Q: I am interested in trying your product should I start with the max capsules or the regular capsules? also, is the tincture used externally only and for what purposes would you use it?

Asked by: Barbara - 10/14/2020
A: Either capsule product is a good starting point. We offer both types because there are two treatment philosophies: 1) Maximize oleuropein, or 2) Use organic unprocessed herbal supplements containing all constituents in their natural proportions. Tincture is designed for internal consumption but there are topical applications for it as well. I can testify it removed a wart by applying a few drops on the wart and covering with a bandaid, reapplying every few days.

Q: I buy this product regularly and wondered if you would be able to offer it on a subscription basis, hopefully lowering the price a bit. Thank you

Asked by: Jesus Trejo - 10/12/2020
A: We understand some customers want an automatic reorder program. These programs are convenient for those staying on the program for long periods. However, it creates problems when customers want to adjust their order frequency, quantity, or place holds or cancellations. Overall, automatic reorders do not work well for health supplements. At some point, we may develop a system that heads off these problems or we may start an email reminder system for when it appears time to reorder. Thank you for suggestion.

Q: I like to buy this product directly from the manufacturer and not from Amazon... I thought I would get a bottle that had at least a year and a half left until expiration from manufacturing date... As it turned out I got less than a year left... Should I return the bottle for a more fresh product?

Asked by: Michael G Russo - 10/26/2019
A: We guarantee a minimum of 12 months remaining shelf life until the expiration date. The bottle you received from the current batch being sold now still has over 18 months shelf life remaining and three years total established with a lab test. This represents a change from what we previously told customers that this product had a two year shelf life.

OliveLeafMAX now has a three year shelf life. After this batch is sold out future batches will have the expiration date printed on the bottle instead of the manufacture date so there is no confusion on how long bottles are good for. If any customer has any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.

Asked by: Jozsef - 12/12/2018
A: If you are taking olive leaf for general health there is no harm to take a break and there may even be a benefit giving your body a break from olive leaf. We feel summer is the best time to break because of the lower chances of cold or flu infection.

Q: How does Olive MAX with 300 caps compare to the Bulk olive leaf with 1000 as far as potency

Asked by: Kellie Bailey - 11/1/2018
A: OliveLeafMAX capsules contain more oleuropein therefore have more of the well studied benefits of that particular compound. There are many other healthful compounds in olive leaf which is why we offer the organic capsule and why we include organic olive leaf powder in OliveLeafMAX capsules. The powder does not go through any processing other than drying and milling, so all constituents in the leaf remain in the final product.

Q: How well do these travel in the heat. I'm in Texas and it's been hot so I'm hesitant to order now but could use them.

Asked by: Susan - 9/17/2018
A: We get this question every summer. The less heat the better is the general rule. A few days in hot weather while in transit will not impact the products potency. Long distance deliveries are by air which is no problem. Only the "last mile" is vulnerable to higher temps. However, leaving the package on your doorstep in 90+ degree weather, especially in direct sunlight can affect the product potency and even the safety seal. Make sure to collect it as soon as possible if the delivery man leaves it outside, or use an address where you know someone will be available to receive it in person.

Q: What are the benefits and drawbacks of taking the product on an empty stomach versus after a meal? Is either way preferable to the other? Thank you.

Asked by: Aaron - 7/1/2018
A: Taking on an empty stomach may help you absorb olive leaf (and other supplements) faster than after a meal. However it is okay to take them after a meal if taking before gives you an upset stomach. Remember not to take olive leaf and probiotics at the same time but wait an hour for one to digest before taking the other.

Q: I have just purchased your olive leaf Max capsules, about 1 week ago, and I am taking 1 capsule 3 times a day, spread throughout the day, I am taking them mainly to lower my blood pressure, and they seem to be very effective. I notice that you recommend 1 to 2 capsules per day, so my question is, is it safe to take 3 capsules per day long term? Many Thanks

Asked by: Alias - 6/25/2018
A: It is safe and many people take 3 or more daily. Our label is a general recommendation for general health only. Some people are particularly sensitive to health supplements and should not take more than one capsule daily. So, it will depend on the individual and what their system can tolerate.

Asked by: Jan - 1/27/2018
A: We do not advertise our products as a cure or treatment for any health condition. I am limited to providing my own testimony. I had shingles 6 years ago and used only olive leaf to treat myself. Symptoms were gone after two and a half weeks. I have not had another breakout since. I acted fast and that is a big key to getting over it quickly without much lingering pain. I also took a lot more of it than what we recommend to customers but that is up to you as to how much to take. Everyone has a different tolerance level. Mine is probably higher than most because I am used to taking olive leaf regularly.

Q: Hi, could you please advise me as to why you use both olive leaf extract (250mg) and olive leaf powder(250mg) per capsule? Most of what I have read tends to favor 500mg per capsule of specifically olive leaf extract and not the olive leaf powder? Thank you

Asked by: Terry - 5/7/2017
A: An excellent question. The success of this product is the high amount of oleuropein combined with wide spectrum of other olive leaf compounds from the olive leaf powder. If you don't believe or trust what is in the powder then focus on the total mg per serving of oleuropein from the 250 mg of extract. And fyi there is also oleuropein in the powder in the naturally occurring percentage of between 1-5%.

Q: When is the expired date of this new stock? Cause I want to buy 6 bottle for one year consumed, need to know the expired date.

Asked by: Quen - 5/6/2017
A: We do not use expiration dates. We print the date of manufacture on the bottle so you know how fresh it is. There is a 2 year estimated shelf life with proper storage (out of heat, light, and moisture). Do not store in the refrigerator as this can cause moisture buildup in the bottle. Store in a cupboard not near the stove or oven.

Q: There is a confusion in my mind about Olive leaf Extract and Oleuropein. Is it the same thing ? Because you mention on your bottles example "Olive Leaf Extract 25% Oleuropein". Does it mean there is 25% of 250 mg in Oleuropein = 112.5 mg Oleuropein in total per 250mg Olive leaf extract? Are 500mg of OLE @ 10% equals 250mg @ 20% in term of dosage ? Thank you very much for your help this is very appreciated.

Asked by: Richard - 5/1/2017
A: You are close to being correct. The percentage (25%) is the amount of oleuropein in the extract. so, 25% of 250 mg extract in each capsule = 67.5 mg oleuropein. Also there is oleuropein in the olive leaf powder but not standardized so can vary between 1-5% or on average 6 mg giving each OliveLeafMAX capsule between 70-75 mg oleuropein. Other olive leaf compounds and polyphenols are not measured but are in all olive leaf and therefore in our capsules also.

Q: CWhat dosage can be given to a four year old child suffering from a severe attack of herpes simplex?

Asked by: Ray - 4/12/2017
A: We do not provide treatment advice. It is best to seek medical treatment advice from medical professionals only. FDA regulations prevent natural product companies such as Olivus from giving treatment advice for this reason. We can not even advertise our products as a cure or treatment for any health condition. If your doctor or naturopractitioner believe olive leaf will help then they should also provide a treatment protocol. Alternatively there are good websites with reliable information online. We suggest people use Google book search for finding treatment information.

Asked by: Pamela - 3/14/2017
A: Olive leaf has no known side effects for pregnant or breast feeding women or the reproductive system. However, please note the California Prop 65 warning on the checkout page stating our products may have trace amounts of harmful compounds, which is typical of natural products. This has nothing to do with using pesticide since we only use certified organic olive leaf. Harmful compounds such as heavy metals are from the environment (soil, water) and are unavoidable for herbal products.

Q: Does it help high Blood Pressure and how soon can you see results?

Asked by: Joyce - 1/15/2017
A: Yes, olive leaf is know as a great herbal supplement for maintaining healthy blood pressure and relieving mild hypertension. For someone with very high blood pressure and/or on blood pressure medication it is always recommended to consult your doctor before trying olive leaf since studies have shown olive leaf to interfere with those drugs and affects the doctor's treatment plan.

Q: Can valtrex 500mg be taken with olive leaf max capsules?

Asked by: Missy - 9/17/2016
A: We are not qualified to provide an answer for your question. Olive leaf does interfere with some blood pressure medications but we can not track how it interacts with all the drugs on the market. Drug manufacturers are better suited to answer these types of questions since they go through the FDA approval process verifying safe usage protocols.

Q: Hi, I am in Georgia where it is extremely hot in August. How long does it take to ship to GA? To prevent heat damage Should I wait a few weeks to order OLE?

Asked by: Sherri - 8/10/2016
A: Choosing USPS Priority mail takes 2-3 days to deliver which is not enough time to damage our products. Your order may however be delivered to your doorstep and sit in direct sunlight if no one is home. This is not good and we recommend to have someone present that can accept delivery, or if that is impossible then post a note to your mail carrier to leave packages in a shaded area.

Q: I am planning to take this for my shingles. They are technically cleared up on the outside but I'm having neuropathy and some pain residually in the nerve area where the blisters occurred. I have no idea how many to take per day. I have studied and read that this product can help with this particular virus. I realize due to legal ramifications you cannot be too specific on how much to take for an individual illness. I would assume for my virus I need to take the amount that is maximum dosage. Is there anyway to just verify that? And does the bottle come with a maximum dosage amount? Are there any known interactions with other nutrients? Thank you very much

Q: I take blood pressure medicine what are the side affects?

Asked by: Allgood - 4/5/2016
A: According to the book "Olive Leaf Extract" by Dr. Morton Walker olive leaf can have a potentiating effect on blood pressure lowing drugs. In other words it could increase the effects of the medication. This in turn makes it difficult for doctors to determine the correct amount of medication to prescribe. Please inform your doctor before taking olive leaf if you are on any blood pressure medication.

We are limited on giving medical advice per FDA and FTC regulations and do not answer specific health related questions. Q: What are the differences between OliveleafMAX and Organic Olive Leaf powder? Which is stronger?

Asked by: Steven - 10/18/2015
A: OliveLeafMAX extract contains 25% oleuropein (one compound in the olive leaf). Organic olive leaf powder is the whole olive leaf ground into powder. It has not gone through any extraction processes and therefore contains oll compounds of the leaf in the naturally occurring proportions. There are advantages to each which is why OliveLeafMAX Capsules are made with both ingredients.

Q: What item does this supplement contain that is in prop 65? how harmful is it to human and k9 consumption? I am looking to get pregnant within a year so will this be ok for me to take. I am taking this to kill or at least put dormant my Herpes II. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you

Asked by: Lory - 8/17/2015
A: There are over 800 chemicals on the Prop 65 list. Food and nutritional supplement companies do not test for all of them. Of the ones we test lead shows up which is common for any herbal ingredient. It is picked up from the soil. The threshhold California sets is lower than FDA and so low that any business selling food products in California commonly display the Prop 65 warning (restaurants, grocery stores, health food establishments, wineries). Certified organic products/companies display the warning or face the prospect of fines and lawsuits.

Q: hello, I would like to know, how many capsules should I take per day and during how long to eradicate the virus Herpes 2? thanks

Asked by: greg - 8/2/2015
A: This type of question is asked frequently and one we are not allowed to answer nor should we since we are not medical practitioners. Medical advice should always be directed to your doctor or natural practitioner. The FDA and FTC have specific regulations preventing a marketer to make health claims about treating or curing a disease. Interestingly, others who are not marketers can make such statements and if you read the books we sell or other natural remedy books you can find answers to how olive leaf helps the immune system and other facets of improving ones health. The information on our website tries to be as helpful as legally possible without going over the line. It isn't always easy to do this.

Q: I have a concern regarding the warning on taking olive leaf max tabs, it cautions that it may cause cancer? How is this possible if it is such a natural product high in anti oxidants?

Asked by: Brendan - 7/8/2015
A: We get this question almost every day. Unfortunately the state of California enacted a law that affects any business exposing the public or the environment to any chemical on a list of over 800 that causes cancer or birth defects. Organic products typically contain lead from the ground. We are required to post the warning somewhere conspicuous to our customers. It is a common warning these days in California seen everywhere from supermarkets and restaurants to gas stations and hospitals. We probably lose business because of this law and have notified our congresswoman Susan Bonilla to hopefully change the law to make more sense for the public rather than create needless concern and loss of business for California companies.

Our website has references to some studies and you can find many more with an online search at: scholar.google.com or books.google.com.
